What does Lunarii's Box add?

Lunarii's Box is a mod of Ultrabox, and has all of the same features that Ultrabox has.

However, there are some cool additions to be aware of in Lunarii's Box:

Two new effects:

Ring Modulation (borrowed from Abyssbox): multiplies the instrument by a waveform to produce a buzzing sound
Granular Synthesis: splices and shuffles the outputted waveform to create "sonic clouds"

New envelopeable effects: reverb, echo, chorus, bitcrush, frequency crush, panning, distortion, and arpeggio speed (+ granular and ring mod)
Four new envelope types:

Pitch: Tracks what your notes do based on the pitch (an equivalent to keytracking in other daws). This envelope has an adjustable pitch range setting
Fall: Similar to twang, except instead of decreasing quickly to slowly, fall decreases slowly to quickly
Random: Produces a random value based on either the time, pitch, or note. This envelope has adjustable seed and steps for time settings depending on which type you select
LFO: Modulates a value based on the selected waveform. This envelope type replaced the old tremolo envelope

Individual envelope speeds, bounds, inversions, and discrete
Increased max envelope count to 16 (from ultrabox's 12)
New Song EQ filter, along with modulation support
Nine voice unisons + drumset unisons
A new monophonic chord type
The ×128 and ×256 fm frequencies
Several new keybinds in the Song player (shorten link, toggle loop, toggle zoom, and copy link), 2 new keybinds for opening and closing several dropdowns at once (envelopes and fm dropdowns), and a new keybind for random instrument generation

Is Lunarii's Box compatible with Ultrabox?

Yes, Lunarii's Box will properly import all songs from Ultrabox. Both changing the domain of the link and importing an Ultrabox json will work If you ever encounter any bugs with this please contact the developers at the links below

How do I add custom samples?

Since Lunarii's Box doesn't have a web server of its own, you'll have to first upload your sample to a CORS-friendly website.

The easiest to use is File Garden.

Next, you have to copy the URL of the sound itself. The URL should end with the filetype, such as .wav or .mp3.

To import it into Lunarii's Box, open the Edit tab, scroll to the bottom, and click on "Add Custom Samples..." or press "shift + Q"

Paste your url and press "Okay." If everything goes smoothly, Lunarii's Box will reload and your sample will be available in the preset list.

What happened to the Envelopes?

Slarmoo's Box 1.2 added individual envelope speeds. This caused a lot of envelope types to be redundant, and as such they were removed. Below is a table showing the conversion if you need it

What can I do with Pitch Envelopes?

Slarmoo's Box's unique pitch envelopes have a variety of unique uses. You can:

Set it to target pitch shift or detune (or custom unisons) to get anything from subtle pitch stretching to microtonality
Target note volume to have upper notes map quieter than lower notes or vice versa for help mixing
Target note volume to fade from one instrument to another (or suddenly change, which may be useful for multisampling)
Target pulse width, fm volume sliders, or other effects to have dynamic arpeggios
Target panning to have different notes be panned different directions
Have different pitches of a drumset or other instrument have different effect amounts
And many more techniques that you can discover on your own!

Does Lunarii's Box have an offline version?

Yes. You can access it here here.
You can either download an OS-specific version that has custom sampling support, or the generic HTML version that lacks custom sampling support.
The offline version tends to update for every other online update

Does Lunarii's Box claim ownership over songs created with it?

Lunarii's Box does not claim ownership over songs created with it, so original songs belong to their authors.

Neither Lunarii's Box nor its creators assume responsibility for any copyrighted material played on Lunarii's Box. No songs are ever received, recorded, or distributed by Lunarii's Box's servers. All song data is contained in the URL after the hash (#) mark, and Lunarii's Box running inside your browser converts that data into sound waves.

When will x feature be added?

Features can be requested at the links below, but after that it's up to Lunarriaa to work on features if/when they can.
Please be patient; Lunarriaa works on Lunarii's Box in their free time. They can't guarantee that anything will be out in a timely manner, or at all.
